I was so overwhelmed I was far from supermom and in the end suffered from post-partum depression. I wish someone would have shared this with me then.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-47809603393641236542010-06-29T12:05:24.806-04:002010-06-29T12:05:24.806-04:00What a lovely article.

In a few cases (#2 and 3) we lived far from "home" and I had absolutely no help when Father was gone. In another, we were in the middle of an emergency (also far from home) and I had to go back to work two weeks after the baby (#4) was born. Post-partum depression was pretty strong with all of those. With #1 and 5 I had some help and was able to be at home for all 40 days. The difference, as I said, was amazing.Matushka Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10522097149212770814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212550248931823866.post-72026153670294206132010-06-29T09:38:29.147-04:002010-06-29T09:38:29.147-04:00This essay is so vital, so true. I learned with each new birth to respect a period of rest because it really did help the family 'gel' and the recently ousted baby to accept the new role of 'older sibling' but most importantly it allowed my body to rest and accept that a new normal has come, embrace it.
I wish I could have read something like this years ago when I started the journey of motherhood, I'm certain other new Mom's will find great wisdome here, and I pray they use it!
Wonderful~Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07890449352677357183noreply@blogger.com
