Daffodils in January...

It seems wrong to have these bright little daffodils on our table in January, but I couldn't resist them! To me, they will always be a March flower. I hope they sell bunches and bunches of the tightly closed buds around my birthday. They seem so cheerful after the gray of winter and are a pick-me-up during Great Lent. I love that they are sometimes called the Lenten Lily.

every year in Ottawa they sell them in the gov'mt employee buildings for a fundraiser... they are so cheery and beautiful. :)

I have a March birthday too and I just love the daffodils! They are actually growing in one of my neighbor's yards. :-)

My youngest has a March birthday, and I love that daffodils are the flower associated with March, and that they are called Lent Lilies :)

Enjoy the sunshine today.
