Miss Marple...

I love crime shows and I love England, so I have begun to record Masterpiece Theater's Miss Marple Series. I've enjoyed a few episodes in the past and loved reading Tommy and Tuppence books while I was in high school. Sunday evenings will be lots of fun with something new to watch on television. I'm also going to get a few Miss Marple books from the library once my pile of books to read has diminished a bit.

What movies or shows are you enjoying?

We rarely watch anything together as a family, but last year at this time we all got into The Next Food Network Star. A new season begins tonight (2 hour premier). We're going to give it a try again and see if this season is any good.

You would probably like Rosemary & Thyme then! The show is about two British women who are professional gardeners and amateur sleuths. Here's a link to it on Amazon:

My mother loves Miss Marple, Rosemary and Thyme, Cadfeil (spelling?), Hercule Poirot, and Hettie Wainthrope. I think you'd enjoy all those as well. :)

Today we enjoyed the documentary "Babies" as a family. We rarely go to the theater to see movies anymore, but we thought the children might sit through this one and they did, for the most part!

My husband and I also enjoyed "The Young Victoria" recently from Netflix.

I love Masterpiece Theater, but I haven't been watching it lately. I have seen Into The West, by Steven Spielberg. It's a 12 hour miniseries that was made in 2005 which I am thoroughly enjoying.

we are currently thinking of doing away with broadcast tv. i do enjoy watching the "franklin springs family media" specials on saturday nights though. i have some on dvd, and hoping one day i can own the ones by the west ladies. i find all of FSFM's dvd's very inspiring! and they are family oriented with no racy commercials!
