Bishop Michael's Consecration...

It is hard to believe that it is just over a week since Bishop Michael's Consecration (it seems a lot longer!). Here are some photographs that Father John took from one side of the church. I think that some of them offer a unique perspective, since he was able to take a few from inside the altar.

Who was wearing those wonderful embroidered vestments?! WOW. Many years to Bishop Michael, and where is his see?

Hi Meg!

I'm not sure who the embroidered vestments belong to (you are referring to the one with the grapes and grapevines, right?). I will ask Fr John. He may know. Bishop Michael is in the New York/New Jersey diocese of the OCA. I wish that we were, too! Our family loves him so much.

Wow, Bishop Michael looks so different with a beard! He really will be a wonderful bishop--he did great things for St. Tikhon's. We also loved him while we were there last year.

What a blessing to have been there, I've heard nothing but positive about the Bishop.

Many Years!

Yes, I was referring to the cross and grapevine. I love to embroider, so that caught my eye right away.

I wish we were in his diocese, too -- not that I know him at all, but my husband, who isn't Orthodox, met an OCA priest while visiting NJ with whom he just *clicked,* and I feel sure that between that priest and Bishop Michael, he'd become Orthodox for sure. However, we're very settled where we are!

Hi Meg! I checked to see who the Bishop was in those vestments and Fr John thinks that it is Bishop Nathanial.
