Moving to Greener Pastures?

This past week has been a whirlwind of interesting happenings. Our church has the opportunity to buy a mansion (with seven bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms and 2 half baths) on 18 acres of property (that includes a private road and five ponds) for 500,000 dollars (a foreclosure). To give you some perspective, houses similar to the one we rent a few miles away from the mansion sell for about 300,000 dollars.

If our church bought this property, the church/fellowship hall/kitchen/offices etc. would probably be located on the ground floor while our family would occupy the upstairs (some renovation would have to be undertaken to transform it into an apartment with a kitchen, living room etc.).

These are exciting times for our Mission! Please keep us in your prayers!! It would be nice to have a new series or two to post on this blog: From Mansion to Church and From Bedrooms to Apartment!

Oh, Emma! I will keep you SO high in my prayers for God's will to be done in this matter. You are a brave woman to have such a positive outlook on possibly moving again. But the mansion does look gorgeous!

How exciting!!
Our mission is also looking for a place to move- that is just ideal for you! I hope all goes smoothly for you and your parish.

What an awesome idea...18 acres...so much potential...you could start a church CSA, even! Our parish is hoping to buy new land, we hoped to be in a new church by this Nativity, but unexpected problems have delayed the plans.

Oooo, that's really exciting!! What neat news! I love the ponds on the property, imagine the beautiful blessing of the waters and other outdoor service and processions you could have. Praying!

Wow! That is so incredible! It is also exactly what our mission is currently praying for as this is one of the best times for missions like yours and mine to do such a thing!
We will pray for you and this opportunity, please for for our mission as well!

WOW! What an amazing chance for your mission. It sounds like everything will fall into place. Just a little patience now. You and your church will be in our prayers. The pictures are just beautiful!

Wow, Emma, that is so exciting! I hope it all works out.

Thanks for your thoughts on baby stuff over at my blog - I love to hear what has worked for other moms. I hear nothing but praise for the Ergo carrier, and while I've been given a few others, I'm considering requesting that one anyway! I am just so excited everything is going well enough I can actually think about registering. :)

Emma, its wonderful and would be so great for you and the little ones to live so close by a place your husband has to be so often.
Great convenience for you and considering how beautiful you have made your present little church, this would be spectacular.
I hope all the best for your plans.

I have lurked and read of your dear little family for a long while.
Good luck!
