Preparing for Nativity: Day 8...

Today was boring day as far as Christmas cleaning and preparations go. I finalized my lists for Christmas gifts and our Christmas dinner menu and cleaned out my desk drawers and cabinets. We also went and got our boy his first pair of shoes today. I had planned to get them for him and add them to his stocking, but it has been too cold for him to only have socks on. Plus, he is trying so hard to walk without holding on to anything. I'm hoping that shoes will help.

I also wanted to mention that I read An Orange for Frankie while we were at the library last week. I really enjoyed this book... so much so that it brought tears to my eyes as I read it on the worn carpet of the children's section! I recommend this book for your collection!

It must be so exciting to see your little one ready to walk. May God bless him always. By the way, take a peek at my blog for a new giveaway and enter your name.

I need to get my gift list finalized too! There is too much to think about; having it on paper keeps me sane.

Thanks for the book idea! I love Patricia Polacco, but haven't read this one. Have you read Pink and Say? That one always makes me cry! I'll look for An Orange for Frankie tomorrow when we're at the library-- if we make it. M. threw up everywhere just before bed tonight (and of course, V. is out of town!). Poor baby.

I really like her books. I haven't seen this one yet. Is it new? Thanks for the recommendation... I'll ask for it!

I love Patricia Polacco too. I can't wait to look at this one although Lizzie doesn't yet sit still enough to read longer picture books. Her favorite is _Mommies Say Shhhhhhh_. When you ask her what mommies say, she holds up one finger and says "shhhhhhhh". It's adorable.

OOhh- I have wanted this book forever! I am so pleased to read a positive review. I'll have to have my husband order it (he works at a book store)for our yearly Christmas Eve book.

I have found that one of the best things about being a mom is finding and reading wonderful children's literature!

We have Christmas Tapestry, which has made me cry every time I've read it, too.
