Christmas Panic...

It seems like every store in our area has had all of their Christmas things up since the end of October. Even though we don't start our decorating until after our son's birthday (the 12th of December) and don't put our tree up until December 21st (the Pre-feast of the Nativity), I feel myself panic every time I walk into a store. I keep forgetting that there is plenty of time and we need to focus on Advent and Thanksgiving first!

Some stores had things out prior to Halloween! Crazy. I love the holidays so much, but do try to leave the Christmas decorating to after Thanksgiving, to keep the focus on giving thanks. I do not normally decorate for Thanksgiving, but this year (the first in OUR home) I have a few pumpkins, a harvest wreath, and a cute stuffed turkey!

Going to the stores can be so overwhelming. We should be able to celebrate one occasion at a time. I live Christmas but seeing it in October is too soon! Have a wonderful week.

When I was little no signs of Christmas were to be seen until after Thanksgiving. Our town would have a small parade right after Thanksgiving through the shopping square and on that day the decorations would appear.

It made the Christmas season shorter and more exciting. Several years ago, we were in Kentucky for business and left at the end of the summer where....true story....the Venture store there had just put up their Christmas trees!

Sigh....how do we change all of this?

I don't know why Christmas comes so early, I hate it.

And, my dh's birthday is the 13th, so we always wait until after then to do our tree.
