I Don't Even Know Where to Begin...

I started out the day looking like this:

I called a beauty parlor and got an appointment for 4:00 so that I could look like this:

I walked out of the beauty parlor at 4:35 and looked like this:

I am not happy.

Sorry to hear you didnt end up with the cut you had hoped for, I am just curious to know did the girl not see the difference in the style that Diane Keaton is wearing? I am sure your hair will grow out fast, but at least you will keep cool in the warm weather!

Aww! I'm sorry! :( A bad haircut is awful, I know. Kind of late to say this, but I like how it looked before...

Would you consider going back and going for something even shorter? Maybe a bob that is lifted in the back and longer on the sides. I've worn my hair like that and it's pretty cute. Good for this hot summer weather, too.

Or you could always cultivate a cute 50's look and wear scarves over your hair until it grows out a bit. :)

My heart goes out to you! I've been there!

Do you think you could use a curling iron or flat iron to give it a smoother look?

I am about to chop off my hair as well-- fortunately, hair grows back. I'm sure you can do something to make it look more like the style you had hoped for. Don't give up!

It looks as though you have a lot of natural curl in there. I'd go to Walmart tomorrow and buy a flat iron, mine is my best friend.

Sorry you're not happy with the cut.

I am so sorry. :(

I don't know what to offer except solidarity - I have had those haircut experiences, too.

I love you too, Emma. And as for the haircut, well...Like they said before me: Hair grows back. I've gotten a million and one bad haircuts (some from my own mother...haha) but I found you can always make them work for you with simple things from around the house. Like the scarf mentioned above, that's a good idea, or maybe pinning the hair back a bit in the front with cut little pins...It's kinda too bad that the back isn't shorter, because if it was you probably could've spiked it up with a bit of hair gel or spray to give it a nice edgy look. But all in all, it really doesn't look that bad. From the back, anyway.

Ooh, nooo! I can't even tell you how sorry I am! Something similar happened to me when I first had my hair cut after DS was born. It WILL grow out, and I second the scarves suggestion-- folded and worn like a headband. Check out Garlands of Grace too for ideas! http://www.garlandsofgrace.com/ How do you feel about it from the front?

OOOh I would be so mad! And it's not like as a mom of a small baby you have tons of time to work on your hair everyday to try and compensate for the bad cut!

They made your layers WAY to short-- if stretched out, Diane Keaton's first layer would be almost at her chin. And quite frankly, with wavy hair and going from your length to Diane's should have taken more than half an hour!

I think that you should call the manager, show up with the same pic you had as before and ask her to do something to make your style a little more modern, it is too rounded-- and of course for free. I've had to do that once before too. I'm not normally confrontational, but I knew that the stylist did a bad job and I could do NOTHING with my hair; in your case, she definitely DID NOT do what you asked and it should be fixed as best they can {of course unless they glue your hair back on they can't make it like the picture's but they can make it better}. I really think the manager should know before some other poor lady becomes another victim.

Oh, I'm sorry! This is pretty much why I've stopped getting my hair cut, other than an occasional trim...

I think it is hard to find a good stylist for us curly haired girls, and I can't figure out why a picture doesn't result in the same cut.

Sigh.

This is exactly why I've just given up on haircuts. H

I agree... try to go back and request a do-over (at no cost, of course).

Hugs! I know hair grows back, but maybe you're like me and it feels like it takes FOREVER to grow out!

I wouldn't be either. That looks nothing like the photo. I concur with the other readers that you get them (or another stylist... because obviously that one sucks) to restyle it for you at no cost.

Every time I have not brought one or even two photos to the salon, I've been disappointed.

HOWEVER, the back of your hair does NOT look bad, it just looks different from the photo.

I think you'd benefit from Frieda's frizz=ease products. I get them at Walgreens. Although it's not easy for me to do, I've gone back to the salon, spoken to a manager, and had a more senior stylist "fix" my situation.

That all said, your hair will grow, your (and everyone elses') eyes will adjust.

After many such similar situations, I've found that my best remedy is to find someone who' faces a more serious problem, and make them cookies or something.

Oops. Well, at least it'll grow again...Sorry for the dissapointment! :(

I had a hair cut like this two years ago. I was devastated. She had asked me if I wanted my bangs cut, I said just a trim to neaten them. She totally butchered them. I spent the next week in tears every time I looked in the mirror. Dh finally went back and complained and we were given a full refund plus a $75.00 gift certificate. I sold the gift certificate on Craigs List as I would never go there again. It took me another year to ever brave going back to get my hair cut. I'm so sorry you had to go through a similar thing.

My hair looks identical to yours (before picture)and mine grows fast...does yours? I'm sorry you are disappointed with your cut. I don't think it looks bad but I understand it's not what you wanted. I had a horrible cut once, much much shorter than yours. I wore a scarf all summer (I had just graduated from high school so I wasn't the most mature person and I was very superficial). I think you'll be able to do lovely things with your hair when it grows out just a bit. Your beauty shows through in so many ways, Emma!
